Little Miss Brynn

We are already entering the month of August tomorrow...isn't that just CrAzY?! The end of summer is coming to a close and with that single thought, August is usually a sad month for me. I do, however, have a little bundle of joy that was born this month, which makes it something to look forward to! This little lady is growing up too fast for me! To think that she will be turning 3 just boggles my mind.

Tonight, I am celebrating this little lady!!

Yup, that's almost 3 years of hair growth right there! She has never had a haircut and it's as unmanageable as ever, but I LOVE IT!!

The Likes: Being in the middle of the action regardless of her age and size...if it's full of adventure and is exciting, she's there! She adores her older sister and just because she's younger doesn't stop her from wanting to do everything her older sister does. She enjoys her babies and Barbies and if she can combine them both, she will! She's a hoarder of toys. Brynn's famous trick from birth....she goes straight to screaming no matter what! She doesn't waste her time building up the drama!

That's our little Brynn Kay...Happy Birthday Month!!

Let the games begin!

We are so excited for the Olympics to start tonight! It is truly amazing the amount of time these athletes have trained and the energy they have put into their sport in order to get here, not to mention the insane amount of money too! Every athlete has a story and I love hearing about the barriers they've overcome and about each triumph!

For the next 16 days, my family will be watching as the best of the best compete for gold medals. Some of our favorite Olympic summer sports include: Gymnastics, Swimming, and Running...What are some of yours?!

GO TEAM USA!!

We made Olympic ring art with toilet paper rolls!

Brynn quickly got the hang of it!

Our final art work!

Next, we made red, white, and blue bracelets!

Yup, we all made one!

We gathered leaves to make our own Laurel Wreaths!

I just thought this one was too cute not to post!

 Our own Olympic race!

June Cleaver Wannabe?

Did I get your attention with my title?! Me, June Cleaver? Hahaha, that is the funniest thing I've ever written about myself! Those that know me well, can certainly pick out things about me that make me complete opposite of the 1950's housewife, June Cleaver!

You will not find me in the kitchen whipping up something scrumptious to eat very often...if it weren't for my growing little ones, I would be serving up cereal for supper more than once a week! Nor, am I the type to mend a piece of clothing with my sewing machine...if it has a hole, it's a perfect excuse to go shopping! If it weren't for my husband, Chad, who doesn't mind cooking us a hearty meal, we would be in trouble!

Over the July 4th Holiday, I learned something about my oldest daughter, Alexis. She loves to cook, bake, and be crafty! It was at that point when I kept seeing her in the kitchen lending a hand when I realized, I need to do more of this stuff with her. I am trying more and more everyday!

Yesterday evening the girls and I made our first lemon meringue pie! It is one of Chad's favorites so why not start with that?!

We followed Paula Deen's recipe. Check it out HERE

Watching the tips turn golden brown

The final product...pretty tasty!

While I was at it, I decided to finish up a hand towel that I've been busy working on!
P.S. Don't mind the messy hair, I decided to be June Cleaver's husband and mow the yard!

Alexis has a BIG idea of completing her very own dress! Karla, does that sound like a project you and her could do in August?!

The BackYard // Oh Happy Day!

The dog days of summer have arrived and although I'm not complaining, my little blonde/fair skinned girls needed a break from the sun sooo...we spent the entire afternoon at The BackYard in Detroit Lakes!
I LOVE that we live so close to such a fun and active place for kids to play. My only complaint is that I didn't think of coming here sooner! The girls and I are already talking about the next time that we can go back and drag daddy along for some fun!
We are definitely going to break up our long, cold winter months and have a lot of fun here...who wants to join us?

Don't smile, Brynn!

And we spent time swimming!

Pizza for supper!
