101 pounds later!

I had the girls look at the picture above and describe them to me.
Alexis said he looks different and that he was skinnier in the photo on the right. She had no other describing words for him other than they were both daddy.
Brynn told me they were both daddy and that he looked better in the photo on the right.

The photo on the left was Chad 101 pounds ago...weeks after Alexis was born. The photo on the right was taken after his 2nd marathon this past May.
The funny thing is that I NEVER thought Chad was chubby or overweight. I loved him the way he was, but looking at the photos side-by-side he looks better than he ever has!

He's kind of my hero for making a huge decision to live a healthier life. Chad lost 101 pounds...No trendy diet and no expensive equipment. I take that back; running shoes, a garmin, and an iPod nano are expensive!

I'm inspired because of him and his huge strides to run and eat healthy. I hope that you can look at these pictures below and take a step to a healthier living just as Chad chose to do. Congratulations, Chad on losing all of that weight.

{right now} today 18 June 2012

Right now today 18 June 2012 we are saying "hello" to summer! We are dipping our toes in the lake and enjoying the sun on our faces! We have been trying to figure out a new routine, one that requires a little bit of structure and a whole lot of rhythm as we transition from school to home. We are staying busy with park play, lake fun, jumping into books, long walks and bike rides, creative play, a short vacation, and A LOT of ice cream!
We are staying up late and waking up later and trying to figure out meals..ugh!

Hello long days of summer, it's nice to see you again!

He's the cherry on top

And the winner for the world's best dad is....Chad!
Today we are celebrating you. The man who is not afraid to do a little housework on top of yardwork! The man who helps with meals, shopping, discipline, laundry, and helping to raise our girls to be the best that they can be! We celebrate all the BIG things and the LITTLE things that you do for us every single day. We love you more than you know...you're simply the BEST!

Questions that Alexis will answer year after year. It will be fun to see how her answers will change!

RUNNERS?!

Some of my favorite pictures that truly captures what kind of father he is...

Show some love

The girls fell asleep on the long car ride home the other day and I am going to be honest, that was a blessing! During that peaceful time in the car, Chad and I enjoyed the silence by holding hands. Yes, we still enjoy showing that little bit of affection towards one another and it still puts my stomach in butterflies!

An hour or so later when we stopped for ice cream, Alexis told Chad that she saw us holding hands. It's crazy to think that these girls of ours absorb, catalog, and remember everything that we do and say.

I am happy that she was able to get a glimpse of what love is all about. My hope for my girls is to know true love. I hope that they can someday realize that true love means that you often care for another person's happiness more than your own and that it is not one-sided.

It is our goal to show them love and how to love...it's the greatest thing that we can teach our girls!

He is my everything!
