Just Like That

I can't seem to wrap my head around that I have a Kindergarten graduate already. It seems like I just posted about her going to Kindergarten...click HERE to view that post!
I am thrilled that she has learned so much this past year. It truely is amazing how these little minds can pick up things so fast. She went into Kindergarten a fairly shy girl and she is leaving Kindergarten with so much confidence in herself. We couldn't be more proud of all of Alexis' accomplishments this year. She has the gift of challenging herself and for that she is heading into 1st Grade with a wealth of knowledge and a LOVE of reading!

I cannot thank her teacher, Mrs. Junkert enough for all the love, guidance, and teaching that she gave Alexis this year. Thanks for being on her journey of learning!!

Congratulations on a job well done, Alexis!

A sign that I made to welcome her to summer!
Yes, that's my art work not Alexis' (I do not have a degree in Art!)

A gift for our little "smartie pants."

Our summer bucket list. Here's hoping we get them all accomplished!

Here's to the best summer yet!

Marathon

This blog is dedicated to my husband who just ran 26.2 miles for The American Cancer Society!! He is the kind of person who would never ask other people for money and he did just that and raised close to $600.00 to help change the course of cancer. On behalf of Chad, thank you so very much! A BIG thank you to Nash Finch and Anytime Fitness for the largest donations!!

Many hours and miles were spent training in the bitter cold, wind, rain, and hot weather in order to be ready to tackle his 2nd marathon. As I write this blog, I have no words. This is the toughest blog I've ever written because I am just in awe of this man that I am proud to call my husband.

Congratulations, Chad on a fantastic race and finish!

A hug at mile marker 6!

A kiss for Brynn!

Mile 13 and going strong!

Mile 19...
ps, don't you just love that guy's monkey hat?

Again at 19

And the BIG finish!

A memorable walk

Yesterday was the day that we walked a 5K in honor of my mom. Just like the quote above says, we walked to inspire and to empower my mom's fight against breast cancer. We walked because of love and for hope that she will beat this. We walked because beating cancer is a team effort. Nobody should have to go through this alone. We walked because we want her to be a fighter and to keep her head held high. We are her team of supporters!!

Go Team Sharon!

And..we're off!!

We finished!!

A personal "thank you" for those that decided to walk in support of my mom. You didn't have to and you all made the decision to walk with us and for that my family and I are so very grateful to you!!

A Toothless Wonder

EEEKK! My first born just lost her first tooth! I know all you mothers out there can relate to the moment when you first began to realize that your baby isn't a baby anymore!

Yes, that moment hit me when she went to Preschool and again when she started Kindergarten. And now, it is hitting me harder this time around now that she has lost her first tooth. I instantly flashed memories of her teething for the first time and I wonder why the heck does time have to fly by so fast?!

Well, I couldn't sit around forever reminiscing about baby teeth, I had to get some tooth fairy plans ready to go for her grand appearance. Thanks to Pinterest, yet again, for helping me with some cute ideas.

Here are pictures of my BIG girl and the story of her losing her first tooth!

A letter to the Tooth Fairy explaining how she "lost" (yes, she literally lost it)her tooth and she was wondering if she was going to get money. She also wrote how she likes to keep her teeth clean.

To her surprise, the Tooth Fairy pulled through! She left glittery money, a dollar basket, and two special coins. The coins were 2006, the year she was born.

The Tooth Fairy left a note behind congratulating her on losing her first tooth. She left a little extra money because it was her first tooth.

And now, Alexis' new look...

Dear Ol' Dad

As I sit here thinking about my dad on his remembrance day, I have a mix of emotions. Today marks 14 years of missing my first true love, my dad. Wow, 14 years can really pass you by. I think back to where I was in life back then and how far I've gotten in life 14 years later. It makes me think that he had to of had something to do with where I am today. I am blessed beyond belief!!

I can remember clear as day finding out the news. I was only 17 years old and my poor sisters had to share that devasting news with me. I was completely heart broken...how I wish he were still here. How I wish he could play with his granddaughters. How I wish we could see a Twins game together. How I wish I could call him up and talk about my day.

How I wish we could have ice cream together. That was always your favorite...so my girls and I are making an ice cream toast to you today, dad! xo, Cindy
